This is a DVD video shot with modern techniques. It offers the possibility of listening to the whole sonata of the main bell with its famous sounds called “sbatoccolata”, “doppio”, and "sbatoccolata finale". The video about the bell-ringers of Gubbio and its main bell is a kind of trip in the bell tradition that, starting from the town, draws close to Palazzo dei Consoli, and includes a liturgical climb up to the turret that leaves space to the silent struggle to rise the main bell that is rung at dawn or sunset, during the night or the day, in all weather. A short background music about the bell-ringers introduces the climb inside Palazzo dei Consoli. That part, wholly commented by a liturgical song, recall the religious function, as to remind – from the collective imagination – the image of the monks that climb up to the top.
